logic in the September 11th Epic Poem

We’ve learned with tact to find out fact
            By starting out from scratch,
By throwing out the things in doubt
            Until our theories match.
But where we err is when we dare
            To stupidly insist,
That things our nerves cannot observe
            Do therefore not exist.

I like that last line, last rhyme – take away ‘therefore’ and wind goes out of the sail, no matter what the replacement.
    Thank you

Thanks. Sometimes “therefore” can really get in the way (I admit I use it too much in a lot of my writing) but it does seem to fit really well in this case.
